Undecidable Problems for Probabilistic Network Programming
نویسنده
چکیده
The software-defined networking language NetKAT is able to verify many useful properties of networks automatically via a PSPACE decision procedure for program equality. However, for its probabilistic extension ProbNetKAT, no such decision procedure is known. We show that several potentially useful properties of ProbNetKAT are in fact undecidable, including emptiness of support intersection and certain kinds of distribution bounds and program comparisons. We do so by embedding the Post Correspondence Problem in ProbNetKAT via direct product expressions, and by directly embedding probabilistic finite automata. 1998 ACM Subject Classification D.2.4 Software/Program Verification, D.3.1 Formal Definitions and Theory, F.3.1 Specifying and Verifying and Reasoning about Programs, F.4.3 Formal Languages

Honey global supply chain network design using fuzzy optimization approach
From the past, honey has been known as a healthy product for human life. Iran has a suitable climate for beekeeping and is among the high-ranked countries in honey production. However, due to failure to comply with quality issues, export of honey from Iran is associated with many problems. According to this issue, this paper presents a robust possibilistic optimization network design model for ...
متن کاملOn the Undecidability of Probabilistic Planning and Infinite-Horizon Partially Observable Markov Decision Problems
We investigate the computability of problems in probabilistic planning and partially observable infinite-horizon Markov decision processes. The undecidability of the string-existence problem for probabilistic finite automata is adapted to show that the following problem of plan existence in probabilistic planning is undecidable: given a probabilistic planning problem, determine whether there ex...
متن کاملModel-checking branching-time properties of probabilistic automata and probabilistic one-counter automata
This paper studies the problem of model-checking of probabilistic automaton and probabilistic one-counter automata against probabilistic branching-time temporal logics (PCTL and PCTL∗). We show that it is undecidable for these problems. We first show, by reducing to emptiness problem of probabilistic automata, that the modelchecking of probabilistic finite automata against branching-time tempor...
